Clean living is a huge deal right now which I absolutely love but I also understand how overwhelming it can be to find the right products for you, not only that but checking to make sure they are reputable products and having them easily accessible. That’s what I am here for today, I want to make a little guide to get you started and ease your worries about switching over to a healthier toxic free lifestyle. I promise it isn’t as hard as you think. This post contains some affiliate links where I may make a small commission off any purchases at no added expense to you. Think dirty is my holy grail app. I look up everything before even thinking of purchasing it here. It rates products on their cleanliness 0 being the best and 10 being the most toxic. Not everything is in this database but most products I search are. It Is so nice to have a place to access quickly and easily to check on a product. It also takes the guesswork out so you don’t have to sit and research each individual ingredient. That’s what I did before the app. What’s nice is the app shows you a breakdown of the ingredients as well and what are clean / dirty ingredients in the product. https://www.ewg.org/ewgverified/ is also a great resource. It is a hard and thorough process to get products EWG verified so it is nice to have a place to see what products are safe and verified.
Don’t worry I am not going to leave you guys hanging at that. I will also list out my favorite products that I personally use or have used. I have my staples but I also like to play around and test new products as well so I have dabbled in my fair share.
BABY PRODUCTS
Most used baby products in my house hold are Burt’s bees products. We love the ointment, shampoo, body wash, bubble bath and lotion.
Honest: we also use the honest shampoo and body wash, honest sunscreen, diaper rash cream, face and body lotion, soothing bottom wash, bug spray ( when they are of age) also their spray hand sanitizer.
The badger brand sunscreen is great and you can find that at target as well.
7th generation wee generation foaming soap, coconut diaper cream and baby lotion are safe and great too.
Hello Bello is another amazing brand, their wipes, shampoo/ wash, baby lotion, bug spray, sunscreen, lotion, conditioner and hair detangler are all things I use as well
I use the hello brand toothpaste for Emma as well.
What’s nice is all these products can be found at Walmart or target, which I am always at one of those stores.
SKINCARE
I have used this cleanser for 2 years and will never use another cleanser, but I will give you other safe options.
100% pure has a good facial cleanser, this has to be ordered online.
Weleda is another good brand I believe whole foods has it, if not online as well.
Burt’s bees has good cleansers, I have used this brand in the past and really liked it.
Honest gel cleanser is also a safe one to use and can be found in stores.
Now on top of my cleanser I also use this mask, serum and moisturizer. These are the best I have used and I love that they have hyaluronic acid and collagen matrix. So good for the skin
Primally pure is another great option for moisturizers and serums.
Weleda also has a skincare line on top of their cleansers that are all safe.
MOUTH CARE
This is the mouth care system I use, it is ewg verified and gives a nice refreshing aftertaste which I love.
Toms has good tooth pastes as well, they leave a good clean feeling.
Trader joes brand antiplaque toothpaste is a really safe option to use.
The honest company as well, most of their products are so amazing.
Toms mouthwashes are also really safe.
Honest company has safe mouthwashes.
SOAPS
I am really picky about my body wash because I have extremely sensitive skin, so does Emma, we both get dry patches very easily.
Rocky mountain soap company has some really good options for soaps, these have to be ordered online.
Seventh generation has clean hand soap options.
Dr. bronner castile soap is great and has so many uses plus you can find this at target.
A big one we like to use here is shea moisture brand, safe effective and very hydrating.
LOTIONS
We use shae moisture for emma, it is light weight but effective.
This is my favorite body butter ever and it has aa nice light scent that won’t give you’re a headache.
I have used pure coco butter and let it met in my hand a bit before applying, such an amazing scent too.
Honest company has great lotion options
And again, burts bees.. they have such a wide variety of options.
HAIR CARE
This is what I currently use
Niucoco is an amazing brand I have heard so much about and I will be testing it for you guys soon.
100% pure glossy line is amazing and has such a good scent!
I will be looking into testing more brands for you guys shampoo and conditioner wise.
Primally pure has an amazing dry shampoo that is clean and effective.
A drugstore brand that is clean for dry shampoo is Batiste dry shampoo, it’s the aqua bottle.
As for hair spray I am currently using the Arbonne one for both Emma and I, I buy this through my friend Tesa Jay, if you need her contact info dm me on Instagram.
DEODERANT
This is an amazing brand I have used on and off for 2 years.
I also have switched with Schmitt’s vanilla rose which I love
Primally pure has amazing effective deodorant.
Honestly PHresh is another wonderful brand
MAKEUP
I love and use all of these brands.
Burt’s bees has an amazing makeup line.
Beauty counter eyeshadow is my jam and I order this through my friend kaitlin, message me if you want her contact info.
100% pure has amazing options and a great concealer line.
Tropic has so many amazing choices.
ZAO orgsanics and they are eco friendly which is a huge plus!
Rejuva minerals has so many amazing products which you will see more about soon on my page!
HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS
I use thieves household cleaner for mostly everything in my house
Another one of my favorites is branch basics.
For easy access safe cleaning supplies and dish washer detergent / dish soap I use seventh generation, its clean and can be found at both Walmart and target.
Laundry detergent I use the seventh generation pure or lavender and I drop a couple drops of essential oil in with it as well.
I hope I didn’t overload you with too much information today, I really wanted to give you a place to browse through different options in case you just didn’t feel like researching things yourself. So many companies will advertise themselves as clean / toxic free when they actually aren’t so I like to give little snippets of some good companies that are actually worth looking into.
