I just recently started dipping my toes in the self- tanning world. And by just I mean the last time I used a self tanner was the 10th grade where I slathered Jergens tanning lotion all over and called it a day. I am extremely pale and I have always wanted a nice little glow for summer, especially here in Arizona but I feel with how pale I am and with being into clean beauty it was harder for me to find something I loved. I remember everything I used in the past making me super orange and most tanners have a lot of toxins in them.
About a month ago I started researching safe tanning products and one of the most reviewed product lines was Vita Liberata. I chose this company not only for the reviews but the products are safe and rated very well in the think dirty app. I decided to try two products out from them and see how they held up. I plan to try and review more of their products down the line as well as other safer tanning brands, but your girl has a budget so I have to use what I have first.
Vita Liberata Invisi foaming tan water:
This is the product I was so excited to use, I loved the thought of an odorless and colorless product. This is so perfect for a busy mom with white sheets. I wanted to love this product, but it didn’t do it for me… I put it on and made sure to cover all areas and when I woke up the next morning it had come out extremely blotchy. It looked like I had missed several areas that I know I went over. I tried the product a second time and it still came out the same. I think I will give this product another chance down the line but for right now I am unimpressed with it. This specific product didn’t have many reviews, I believe because it is newer. From what I have seen as well tanning waters are very hit or miss and they still have a ways to go to perfect the formulations.
Vita liberate Phenomenal 2-3 week mousse:
Now this is a product I can get behind. When I first put the mousse on the color scared me a bit, it’s almost a greenish / orange color but I decided to trust the process and put it all over anyways. I put it on a few hours before I went to bed and I made the room cold so I wouldn’t sweat it off on my white sheets throughout the night. In the morning, I hopped straight into the shower and could see color going down the drain. Once cleaned and dried I was extremely pleased with the color, it gives a very natural color and made me probably about 2 shades darker without giving me any orange color at all. I used the shade medium and I think I want to test the dark shade and see how that comes out on me too, just out of curiosity. Besides the beautiful natural color that I got from the tan, application is really smooth and it is nice seeing color right away so I know where it’s going and how much I have put on. Personally, I feel like this tanner is hydrating as well, specially after shaving my legs I didn’t feel dried out. Lastly I like how it fades away, it’s a subtle lightening no flaking or splotches that way once it’s time for another application it doesn’t look like I am caking tan over tan.
A few other products I would like to try from this company are the gradual tanning face drops, the body blur, the beauty blur skin tone optimizer and the gradual tanning lotion. Once I get my hands on these I will be putting out more reviews. I am always looking for safer brands to try out for you guys too so If you ever have anything you are curious about let me know and I will be happy to try it out!
