I had been contemplating for weeks if I should bite the bullet and get a Bissel crosswave. The price was hard to get by but when I came across one left at Sam’s club for $150 I had to get my hands on it. I have been using it for about a month now and I feel I can give my honest review.
BREAKDOWN:
To start this is a hardwood floor cleaner meant to be used on tile, sealed wood floors, linoleum, laminate, area rugs and things like rubber floor mats. It is not a vacuum to be used on carpet or really shaggy carpets. This works well for me because besides the kids rooms our entire house is tile. I tried using it on my shag area rug and it doesn’t do anything but it does work on my low pile area rug in my dining room. If this is something you were looking for, for your carpet I would advise against it. For a deep clean on my carpets I use my regular vacuum and my Bissell carpet shampooer when it needs a wash.
THOUGHTS:
I won’t lie, I absolutely love this machine. I use it once a day and feel like I definitely notice a difference in my floors. It has great suction and cleans dust and dirt really well. Also, it can get the small stains out from juice or milk spills which like to find their way around the house. Emma also colored on my floor with washable crayon and the crosswave was able to get it up with a couple passes. I will say my floors aren’t dirty with extremely stuck on messes and dirt / grime. I have heard that the crosswave can conquer those messes, it just hasn’t had to in my house. I have two dogs (that don’t shed), a cat (that barely sheds) and my toddler who likes to make little sticky messes with her juice boxes or milk, or the occasional food mess. My house mainly has small dirt messes from the dogs tracking it in or crumbs from cooking in the kitchen or when Emma is snacking. The crosswave does an amazing job cleaning all of this up, it leaves the floors wet for a bit when cleaning but it dries fast so I am okay with that. It leaves the same amount of water behind as my steam mop does. Also, it doesn’t leave any residue feeling on the floor, it actually leaves a really clean feeling which I love. I am barefoot a ton so I love that clean floor cleaning. Every time I clean with it, which is daily, the water grosses me out while being oddly satisfying. It’s crazy how dirty floors can get even when cleaned daily. Now the crosswave hasn’t completely replaced my steam mop. I went from steam mopping daily to once a week. I love a nice steam clean on the floor so I do one weekly just to know germs are all killed and they get one good heavy duty mop in.
CONS:
Even when there’s mostly pro’s there are still a few cons. So, it doesn’t work as your regular vacuum, it’s a great floor cleaner but don’t expect much on carpet. This means it will not replace your vacuum. I don’t mind this because my house is almost all tile so I don’t have to lug my vacuum around the whole house, I just use it on the kid’s rooms and my shag area rug. The crosswave also doesn’t have attachments so If I need to vacuum the couches, corners, baseboards or any other small spaced I will bring my vacuum out. Again, this wasn’t a turn off with me so I was fine with it. The crosswave also must be cleaned after each use, it only takes about 5 minutes to dump it and wash/ rinse the components then you have to leave them for 24 hours to dry. I think for the clean and suction power you get it is definitely worth it.
]Overall, I believe this machine is worth it for the clean it does and the ease It gives. I will admit its so nice not having to lug a vacuum around then once done vacuuming pulling the mop out and cleaning again. It makes my cleaning process easier by eliminating another trip around the house with a second machine. I have found this makes my cleaning experience more enjoyable and I think this will be extremely helpful when I have an infant and a toddler and even less time to clean. I will link the different crosswaves HERE, there’s the regular one which I have, the pet one which has a strainer to catch the pet hair and the new pro which is cordless and is supposed to be a little more powerful. I am happy with my basic cheaper model but sometimes you might need a little extra. You can also head to my Instagram to see more cleaning videos, products and tricks.

Thank you, I have thought about getting one from my off white tile floors, I did not know there was a pet one though. Even better.
